This painting was created while the artist was in Southern Louisiana. The artist was the Polly Wood Crews Scholarship recipient for the Arkansas Committee of the National Museum For Women in the Arts (ACNMWA) in 2015. Later awarded the Slidell Art League Artist of the Year in 2016. This piece was exhibited during her show. It will be on exhibit at the Butler Center in 2017 as one of the Arkansas /Louisiana scholarship paintings she created while comparing and contrasting the sister states.
BIO The intrigue with the world of the arts began for Robin Miller-Bookhout at the early age of eight. Growing up in the small town of Malvern, Arkansas with a mother and father who wanted their children to enjoy the “aesthetics”, promptly looked for “private” instruction in the performing arts for Robin and her sister. It became apparent after only a few short weeks of piano lessons and dance classes that this was not the avenue for Robin to find her hidden talents or future dreams. (A story all to itself for another time.) Local visual artists became a part of Robin’s early artistic endeavors.
